One step to making your course ADA compliant is adding alt text to all of the images in your course. The alt text should be a description of the image so that blind students who use screen readers can have an idea of what the image is. This tutorial will show you how to add alt text to images in Microsoft Word 2013.

Step 1

Right-click on the image and then select Format Picture at the bottom of the menu.

Step 2

Select the third icon at the top of the window and then select ALT TEXT.

Type a description of the image into the Title field. Then save the file.
