Under some circumstances, a student can request that their faculty members permit them to miss part of one class to enroll in another. Such permission is sometimes obtained when the two courses are not entirely mutually exclusive. Consider the following example:

Course 1 (Lecture) - 1:00 PM to 2:20 PM on Tuesdays & Thursdays

Course 2 (Lab) - 2:00 PM to 3:50 PM on Tuesdays

The twenty minute overlap of these two courses could be addressed by completing a TIME CONFLICT FORM. To complete the form, both faculty members must approve the arrangement made - leaving early or arriving late to a respective course. You MUST submit the completed form prior to the 14th day of classes for the semester.

When courses are entirely mutually exclusive, two courses occur simultaneously with no overlap, creating an acceptable arrangement between the conflicted courses is not possible. You would be best served to see if another section of the courses is conducive to your schedule.
