Overview

You have the option to add a profile picture to your Canvas profile. While SUU does not require you to have a photo, we HIGHLY recommend that you add a profile picture to help others identify you. This tutorial will help you to add your own profile picture to your account.

Select the Account button in the pane on the left and then select Profile.

Hover your cursor over the bottom right-hand corner of the profile picture icon next to your name and select the pencil icon that appears.

You have two options to choose a profile picture: upload a picture from your computer or take a picture with your webcam. The Gravatar option is not supported by SUU.

Using the Webcam

Select the Take a Picture tab. You may have to allow Canvas to access your webcam, so look for a pop-up if you can’t see feedback from your webcam in the middle of the window. When you are ready to take the picture, select the Take Picture button. Then select Save.

Your profile picture must follow these guidelines:

i) It must be a recognizable and current photo of your face. (Cartoons, illustrations, masks, extreme Photoshopping, distance shots, pictures with more than one person, or obscure images are not allowed.) Your face needs to cover 70% of the image.

ii) It must be a minimum of 500 x 500 pixels in dimensions.

iii) A square-shaped image is ideal.

iii) The image must be in JPG format.
