Canvas is integrated with Banner; therefore, students and faculty are automatically populated into their courses once the shells are created. Faculty DO NOT need to submit a special request for student population.

When Are Students Added for the Next Semester?

Students are automatically populated into Canvas. After a student registers, 48 hours may be needed for the registration to be processed.

What about Adds and Drops?

For the first three weeks of a semester, adds/drops are processed every hour at the top of the hour. So if someone registers for a class at 3:01 pm, he/she won't get added until 4:00 pm. After the first three weeks, adds/drops from the previous day are automatically processed every morning from updates received from Banner.
