Overview

SpeedGrader uses the Crocodoc document previewer for viewing and annotating files uploaded to assignments in Canvas. However, not all file types are supported by Crocodoc. Unsupported file types preview in the Box document previewer instead of Crododoc and thus cannot be annotated. Further, a few file types cannot be previewed in Crocodoc, and so these files must be downloaded and opened in the appropriate program to be viewed.

You have two options for media assignments:

1) You can have your students upload video/audio from their computers to the assignment, and then you can download them to view/listen to them. If you choose this option, we recommend requiring your students to upload video as .wmv, .mov, or .mp4 files and to upload audio as .mp3 files.

2) You can have your students embed video/audio from the My Media tool, and then you'll be able to view/listen to the media in SpeedGrader. In order for students to be able to embed media from the My Media tool, you must select Text Entry as a submission option when you create the assignment.
